This highly original program proposes the creation of an imaginary Christmas oratorio consisting of works by 17th-century German composers.

A large part of these works have never been published and come from the very rich Düben collection housed in the library of the University of Uppsala. All the pieces are arranged to evoke the main scenes of the Nativity story; large ensembles contrast with these narrative scenes and evoke the crowd of angels and shepherds in adoration before the manger.

The instruments play an important role in this festive celebration and bring contrasting colours.
